PUB QUIZ FUNDRAISER (MOVE FILM COLLECTIVE)

The pub quiz was the first fundraiser we set up in order to raise money for our production company "MOVE Film Festival" and our degree show in June 2019. as part of the fundraiser we had originally set out a budget for everything we would need for the (Website, Film Festival, Gallery Show, Awards night, Trailer, Booklets and Leaflets). We originally anticipated we needed around a thousand pounds depending on our estimations on the prices of booklets, from the money we had already made we paid for a yearly membership for our own website, this cost us around one hundred and fifty pounds, putting a pretty large hole in our small amount of money, this was the point where we started discussing fund-raising events to run alongside our go fund me page,

Our first idea was a pub quiz, this idea felt the safest option in order to make money and not loose money, Manchester students seem to love a good pub quiz and a cheap drink, we decided to get in contact with deaf institute who immediately told us we could have the venue for free, we jumped at this opportunity and booked the event, ensuring to advertise via posters, social media and interacting with as many students as we could. The night came and I was assigned to standing on the door, taking money throughout the night, to our surprise so many people came and filled our room, in fact we needed more space having to bring in more chairs, later on in the night we were visited by tutors who generously gave us extra cash in order to help us out the on door payment was set at 2 pound per person yet they were giving us 5 to 10 pound per person hat really helped us out financially.

For the pub quiz we had got together some really interesting prizes, we had a vintage camera, girls on film tickets, bath bombs, vouchers to food venues and i personally had crafted handmade crystal rings to give away on the night and quiz and raffle prizes. The quiz went down super well and everyone really enjoyed themselves, we then moved onto the raffle where a lot of the money came from, so many people bought raffle tickets, once all the prizes were given out and the pub quiz and raffle had come to an end we counted the money and to our amazement we had made just over one hundred and fifty pounds, making back our website money and a little more to put towards other things, this event really helped us out financially and we hope to put on another Pub Quiz.
