THE DEAD WING BAND MEETING

Following our membranes Strange perfume music video release we go quite a large amount of publicity, within this publicity we got offers for more music videos, One was from a choir member from the strange perfume music video, she actually has her own band "DEAD WING", she got in contact via facebook and expalined they were wanting a music video and really enjoyed the atmosphere on the previous shoot.

She sent me over the song for me and my producer to listen to and we set up a meeting with her and another band member, The day of the meeting came and we met at the university cafe this was the easiest location for us due to them studying at BIMM, during the meeting we played the song and discussed ideas, prior to the meeting we hadn't discussed much about visuals within the film. Upon arrival I asked them what ideas they had for there music video they expressed they wanted a Pagan themed story, at first I was visualising viking themes although after the discussion progressed I realised they were wanting the opposite side of paganism, leaning more towards Wiccan (witch cast) although wanted to incorporate softer and sadder themes almost (fairy like), this was the part where we started getting quite excited discussing locations such as Langsett Reservoir, The moors and Dover stone reservoir, all locations in which would fit our theme. We also wanted to incorporate themes from films alike Blair witch project and True detective.

Following this we began discussing if the band would want to be in the video, where we was told the lead singer would only be participating, alongside another actor, this was the point where we started discussing the overall budget, here is where my producer took over, expelling the cost of a music video and how it helps us out financially and also on our CV's, he went on to explain that for transportation for actors, crew, equipment and the band to location, food costs, costume design, props etc. and payment of the crew. My Producer expressed we were looking at £500 budget as a minimum, originally I disagreed with this price as this band are students and aren't as financially stable as other bands may be. Although the band explained BIMM Tutors are willing to help financially.

We then decided to discuss the time frame of the prodution such as (shoot dates, edit and release date) they explained they needed the video around the end of July, for us this worked perflectly due to us having the equipment and editing softwares until June 27th. We then asked where the video would be going online, they explained youtube, Vimeo, social media and anywhere else they can get the video in order to get press. With this in mind we wanted to get on track with the planning stages so before the band left I asked them to send through lyrics and other music videos in which influenced there idea, overall this meeting went really well.

Following the meeting myself and the producer went over everything from the meeting and then discussed setting up a website and social media platforms in order to gain more press and and get more music video opportunity's and we want to grow and expand our buisness, Following the meeting the band sent me over the lyrics and from here we will begin the pre production stages, I'm really confident about this project.
